Tokyo had a few inches of snow last weekend - the most I've ever seen here. I took a few photos with a Pentax Spotmatic I'm looking after at the moment. Here's one from a Japanese garden near Waseda university.

An interview with US journalist Dan Gillmor for the Japan Media Review. He has just set up an organization called the "Center for Citizen Media" and we talked about grassroots journalism in Japan and the US.

Just before new year we travelled to Nagoya by "ju-hachi kippu" (a discount ticket which is incredibly cheap, but only lets you ride local trains). This was taken in a station on the outskirts of Tokyo.

Time has run out for film. Nikon announced today that they won't be making 35mm film cameras anymore.

Just one more photo from Kyoto. Snow and leaves outside the gates of a temple. That was a a month or so ago, the rest of Japan has had a lot more wintery weather since then.
